- Don't leave your pets outside unattended on Halloween (or on the days preceding or following this Holiday). Halloween pranks committed against pets can be vicious, and black cats are particularly at risk.
- Halloween is the busiest time of year for pet poison control hotlines. Chocolate and the sugar additive, Xylitol, present serious health risks to your dog.
- if you think your pet has ingested a toxic or foreign food/ object - call us right away: 781-444-8838 or call ASPCA’S Poison Control: 1-800-548-2423
Although we think of Halloween as full of innocent fun, for many pets the holiday poses a fair amount of danger. The constant ringing of the doorbell, increased traffic, unattended candy bowls, and human pranks are among the many events that can cause pets undue stress and increase their risk of illness or injury.
